Immigrant Education

Our Immigrant Education classes are specifically designed to provide immigrants with the opportunity to become active and participating members of economic, civic society, and prepare for citizenship.

Certificates are not offered for these courses

Preparation for United States citizenship by navigating through the Naturalization process including taking the test for citizenship, learning to site the Oath of Allegiance, and practicing English language skills to answer questions for the oral and written portions of the test.

Topics include: 

  • What becoming a citizen means
  • The process of applying for citizenship
  • How to prepare for the different sections of the test
  • Practice reading and writing English
  • Civics test review
  • History test review
  • Geography test review

Steps to Get Started

  1. Check course availability in Schedule of Classes

    To find Immigrant Education courses in the class schedule, look for the subject “Immigrant Education”.

    Go to Class Schedule

  2. Choose which type of student you are:

    Follow these steps if you are new to PCC OR returning after an absence of 1 or more major semester(s):

    1. Apply to Noncredit

      • Create an OpenCCC account if you don’t have one already.

    2. Receive Welcome Letter via email

    3. Activate your LancerPoint account

    4. Check your Registration Status Date in LancerPoint

    5. Register for classes in LancerPoint using CRN# 

    Follow these steps if you are a current or continuing PCC student (noncredit or credit):

    1. Check your Registration Status Date in LancerPoint

    2. Register for classes in LancerPoint using CRN#
